Byron Edgington

About Me

Byron Edgington is a Vietnam veteran helicopter pilot, a 40-year commercial pilot, public speaker, and an award winning author. He retired from aviation in 2005, returned to college, and received his Bachelors in English and creative writing from The Ohio State University in 2012 at age 63.

Edgington's latest book is titled Journey Well, You Are More Than Enough. Journey Well was written in collaboration with his wife to lift readers up, and to affirm their belief in a better, brighter life. The book is a continuation of the authors' shared efforts to elevate people, and focus on positive, affirming values.

Edgington's previous titles include The Sky Behind Me, a Memoir of Flying and Life, A Vietnam Anthem—What the War Gave Me, and Waiting for Willie Pete, a Helicopter novel of Vietnam.

In 2012 Edgington was awarded The Bailey Prize in prose from the Swedenborg Foundation Press for 'Lift Off' an essay about caring for his dying father.
